The House System of Wylie Preparatory Academy aims to develop a school culture that encourages spiritual, social, and emotional growth through Christ-centered relationships and activities grounded in the truth that with Christ, no one is left behind. For Wylie Prep, this means guiding each student towards embodying the essence of a Wylie Graduate: a wise thinker, a culture changer, and a servant leader.
This also entails fostering a strong sense of camaraderie among students through engaging in enjoyable events such as the spring lip sync battle, intramurals, chapel services, and student-led service projects. Students and faculty in grades 9-12 are assigned into four distinct Houses, each with unique characteristics: namesake, crest, colors, Scripture, and symbols.
Led by two faculty members and six student leaders, the Houses compete for points in a wide variety of categories throughout the school year:
ClassReach serves as an invaluable tool assisting in tracking service hours, House points, and attendance at school events. Additionally, records of service hours, awards, and honors can be placed on each student's transcript.

Wylie's House system began in the 2014-2015 school year. Each year, as new students are assigned to their House, the community comes together for the House Induction Ceremony. Students who have a family member previously inducted in the House program will already be aware of their House assignment, as the system prioritizes keeping families together, including alumni connections.
The House system engages the entire family through traditions and generational involvement. Through the use of a robust forms feature, ClassReach partners with Wylie to provide a way for students or their parents to report service hours effortlessly. The form is designed to allow repeated submissions so that the student is able to keep an ongoing record of hours, and deans can easily stay on top of the records throughout the semester.
Students interested in serving as a leader in their House must meet certain qualifications determined by the Wylie faculty. ClassReach provides GPA reports, transcripts, and forms where teachers can fill out a recommendation for the student who has applied for the leadership position.
Wylie Prep has fully embraced the task of cultivating camaraderie and building community through their House system, effectively helping students develop skills needed to answer God’s call in their lives. Students are developing interpersonal skills, teamwork, perseverance, edification, sportsmanship, leadership, service, integrity, trustworthiness, and citizenship as they grow into servant leaders.
